It takes God to bless a person. However, it often takes another person, used by God, to bring those blessings to fruition. While God is the source of all blessings, humans are the channels through which those blessings flow. No one is an island; even if you are working independently, you cannot navigate life entirely on your own. Achieving success is not a solitary journey.
Though we are encouraged to take charge of our destinies and create the future we desire, we cannot accomplish everything by ourselves. We need helpers, friends, and partners. People matter; they need us just as much as we need them. Collaboration is essential to overcoming the challenges involved in pursuing our dreams. When we fulfil our dreams, we can, in turn, help others confront their challenges. We need people to support each other!

Success is not a one-person race. We require others to support us as we climb the ladder of life. There will be times when we need to delegate tasks or seek guidance from others to reach places we couldn’t access on our own. The more friends and connections you have, the greater the opportunities that can open up for you.
You cannot climb to the top of life’s ladder all by yourself. Your success in this life will largely be dependent on your network because success is teamwork. No one ever reached life’s peak all on their own. Behind them were a host of great people who contributed in one way or another. Behind every great dreamer [in public] are even greater dreamers in their closet.
Your life is ultimately in your hands, but you’ll need the support of others to make the most of it. While you’re on your personal journey to improve your life, remember to make friends along the way. Over-ambition can lead us to believe we must navigate life alone, but walking this path by ourselves can hold us back. You may carry burdens that others could help lighten. Living in isolation can be exhausting.
Independence is important, but forming a strong network can provide you with benefits that mere independence cannot. History shows us that all the great individuals who ever lived achieved success by leveraging the help and support of others. From Jesus and his disciples to King David and his mighty men, the examples are plentiful. Success does not mean you are superior to everyone else; rather, it means you are creating a network of individuals who contribute to one another’s greatness.
Build meaningful friendships and treat everyone you encounter with respect. Truly great individuals do not have labels; they value and honor every person they meet. Always be honest and, if you can offer help to someone in need, do so without expecting anything in return. Remember, blessings often come through the actions of others rather than from above.

Back in the day when I used to teach in St Rose’s SHS at Akwatia, I quite remember how I gave each student the utmost respect. I taught them from the depths of my heart and inspired them from the heights of my mind. I did all those with no expectations. Many years on, they have become such a core part of my dreams; volunteering for Scribe at the least opportunity. When God gives a man a dream, He adds a team that would make that dream a reality. That man would meet every team member as he journeys on. It depends on how he would treat them.
At all costs, try to keep the people you meet on your way in this life… unless they do not want to stay. Can you imagine the biblical Joseph’s breakthrough came through a man he had met in prison? This gentleman, who happened to be Pharaoh’s chief butler, mentioned him to the king and… that was it! There are similar stories of how people met others who held the key to their promised door.
Build your network. Be sociable. Make [good] friends. Be active in the social media space. Have your say in the WhatsApp groups you are in. Make some new friends. Learn something new about their profession. In this life, you are on your own, but never walk alone. If you try to walk alone, you will needlessly die alone. Be like Liverpool. Haha.
During my time at the University of Ghana, specifically in Commonwealth Hall, I encountered an average of over thirty roommates due to a practice called ‘perching,’ which allowed rooms to accommodate many more people than intended. Looking back, I realize how many of these roommates provided invaluable support to me.
Your network can offer you opportunities that you might not achieve through hard work alone. The size of your network can significantly reduce the amount of hard work required to reach your goals. If you want to succeed, rely on your hard work, but also recognize the importance of your network.
It’s essential to strike a balance; don’t depend solely on others, but don’t put everything on yourself either. Choosing to remain isolated can lead to overwhelming challenges in life. While your future is ultimately in your hands, you’ll need the support of others to shape that future. Need I say more?
