The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced a ban on betting companies from offering odds on domestic football matches as part of a broader initiative to combat match-fixing and safeguard the integrity of the sport.
“No betting company has been licensed to place odds on domestic games,” said GFA President Okraku to delegates. This decision means that betting operators are not authorised by the GFA to provide betting markets for domestic fixtures, including those involving clubs in Ghana’s local competitions.
The ban is part of the GFA’s ongoing efforts to address the ongoing threat of match-fixing, an issue that remains a concern for football authorities worldwide.
