GFA sacks Otto Addo after Austria, Germany losses

The Ghana Football Association has officially announced the immediate departure of Black Stars Head Coach, Otto Addo. In a statement released via its official Facebook page, the Association expressed gratitude to Addo for his dedication and service to the national team. “We sincerely thank Otto Addo for his contributions to the Black Stars and wish him success in his future endeavours,” the statement read.


This decision comes in the wake of a series of disappointing performances, including recent friendly defeats to Austria and Germany, which have heightened concerns about the team’s readiness ahead of upcoming major competitions. Otto Addo’s departure comes at a crucial time as Ghana prepares for the group stages of the upcoming FIFA World Cup, where the Black Stars are set to face England, Panama, and Croatia.

The GFA has announced that it will soon share the new technical direction for the national team, including the appointment of a new head coach, as preparations for the global tournament ramp up. This development marks the start of a new chapter for the Black Stars, as the Association aims to rebuild momentum and enhance performance before upcoming international assignments.
