Undelivered passports pile up at application centres due to inaccurate details

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has made a public announcement urging passport applicants to verify their contact details. This comes after a significant number of passports were not delivered due to incorrect addresses and phone numbers. In a statement released today, the Ministry explained that courier services contracted to deliver passports returned the documents to the Passport Application Centres (PACs) after they were unable to reach applicants within 21 days. The main reason for this issue was the inaccurate information provided during the application process.

“…Passport applicants who have not received any notification on the delivery of their passports are to contact the PACs where their biometric details were captured to arrange for collection or call the Passport Client Service Unit on 0302 754 200 for assistance,” the Ministry stated.

The Ministry further encouraged the public to ensure accuracy in their applications to avoid delays, emphasising the need for collaboration to streamline passport issuance.
