The Ghana Education Service has received a newly constructed 600-bed dormitory for Presbyterian Boys’ Senior High School, donated by businessman and distinguished alumnus Dr. Ernest Ofori Sarpong.

Dr. Ofori Sarpong, who serves as Board Chairman of the school and Global President of its alumni association, presented the facility to his alma mater in recognition of the discipline, values, and training he gained as a student.

The new dormitory is expected to ease accommodation challenges and reduce congestion in boarding houses, complementing government efforts to expand access to quality secondary education.
In a statement, the Ghana Education Service described the donation as an exemplary gesture, underscoring the growing role of alumni associations in supporting education. It noted that such groups have become vital partners through infrastructure projects, scholarships, mentorship, and contributions to school governance.

The Service also encouraged other former students and alumni associations to support educational development across the country. Management assured Dr Ofori Sarpong and the public that the facility would be properly maintained and used effectively for the benefit of current and future students. The donation, the statement added, reflects the strong bond between schools and their former students and demonstrates the impact of collective support in improving education.
