Constitution Review Committee to present report to Mahama today

The Constitution Review Committee (CRC) is scheduled to present its report to President John Dramani Mahama today, Monday, November 24, at the Presidency in Accra. The eight-member body, chaired by Professor H. Kwasi Prempeh, Executive Director of the Ghana Centre for Democratic Development (CDD-Ghana), was inaugurated by the President to spearhead the review of the 1992 Constitution.

According to an official communication from the Presidency, the presentation will take place at 13:00 hours. The committee’s membership includes Justice Sophia Adinyira, former Supreme Court Judge; Professor Kwame Karikari; Charlotte Osei; Dr. Godwin Djokoto; Ibrahim Tanko Amidu; Dr. Esi Ansah; and Dr. Rainer Akumperigeya.

The Committee, which was inaugurated on January 30 by the President, was initially supposed to present its findings to him in August, but due to the huge volume of the task, it asked for an extension of three more months.
