Rev Stephen Wengam, General Superintendent of Assemblies of God, Ghana, and Chairman of the Governing Council of the Ghana Immigration Service, has urged leaders to embrace servant leadership as the key to transforming the institutions they oversee. He encouraged leaders to place the needs of their followers first, empowering them to pursue their aspirations while contributing meaningfully to the growth of the organisation and society at large.
Rev. Wengam reminded the congregation that the most effective model of leadership is servant leadership, exemplified by Jesus in the Gospel of John (John 13). He made these remarks during a Thanksgiving service held in honour of Samuel Amadu Basentale, Comptroller-General of the Ghana Immigration Service. The service was officiated by Rev. Wengam, with support from members of the Assemblies of God Executive Presbytery, district pastors, and the chaplain of the Ghana Immigration Service.
Special prayers were offered for Mr Basentale, the directorates and the entire institution of the Ghana Immigration Service. In response, Mr Basentale thanked God for his elevation and the Assemblies of God, Ghana, for nurturing him to rise to this high position. The service was held at the United Assemblies of God Church, Achimota.
