The Controller and Accountant-General’s Department (CAGD) has announced that outstanding salary arrears owed to education and health sector employees will be paid between this month and August 2026. In a statement released on Tuesday, May 26, the Department indicated that payments for arrears dating back to August 2024 have already begun and will proceed according to an approved schedule.
CAGD clarified that the arrears will be disbursed in four instalments, each covering four months of unpaid salaries. These instalments are scheduled for May, June, July, and August 2026. The Department expects the first batch of payments to be completed by Friday, May 29, 2026. Subsequent payments will follow the established timetable until all arrears are cleared. The statement concluded with the CAGD expressing appreciation to all affected employees for their patience and understanding.
