The Eastern South Regional Police Command has apprehended two individuals in connection with the armed robbery at the Kwafokrom GOIL Filling Station near Nsawam in the Eastern Region. The suspects, Amos Boame and Collins Adjei, were taken into custody after investigations into the incident, which occurred on Sunday, May 24, 2026. According to a statement released on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, and signed by DSP David Fianko-Okyere of the Public Affairs Unit, the police are also searching for a third suspect, known only as Ashivie, believed to be involved in the robbery.
The police statement confirmed the arrest of Boame and Adjei and noted that several items believed to have been used in the crime were recovered from the suspects and are being held as evidence. The items include an Alder Tupal pump-action gun with serial number 245A-12944, an electronic shocker, a cutlass, and a bulletproof vest.
The police said the suspects shot and injured a security guard and a pump attendant during the robbery after the victims had taken refuge in an office within the filling station. “They also made away with cash in the sum of Thirteen Thousand Four Hundred and Sixty Ghana Cedis (GH¢13,460.00),” the release added.
Police investigators who visited the scene recovered nineteen spent cartridges and one live round of ammunition. The injured victims are currently receiving treatment and are said to be in stable condition. Meanwhile, the Eastern South Regional Police Command says efforts are ongoing to arrest the remaining accomplices and dismantle their network.
The Command has also assured residents and business operators in the area of enhanced security measures. “Residents are entreated to remain calm as police in collaboration with the Filling Station Managers, have put up robust security measures to prevent further occurrence,” DSP David Fianko-Okyere stated.
