I’m the only viable candidate to lead NPP to victory in 2028 – Kennedy Agyapong

Former Assin Central MP and New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer hopeful, Kennedy Agyapong, has urged delegates to elect a candidate capable of securing victory in the 2028 general election during the party’s presidential primary on Saturday, January 31, 2026.
Delivering his final campaign message to delegates on Thursday, January 29, Mr. Agyapong stressed that the contest was not simply about choosing a flagbearer but about selecting a “winnable candidate.”

He expressed confidence in his ability to lead the party to success, declaring, “We are not only electing a flagbearer but a candidate who can deliver victory in 2028. There is no other choice than Kennedy Agyapong, and if you decide on me this Saturday, victory will be ours in 2028.”

The January 31 flagbearership contest will see Mr Agyapong face four other aspirants: former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, former Education Minister Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, former Minister for Food and Agriculture Dr Bryan Acheampong, and former NPP General Secretary Mr Kwabena Agyepong.
