Henry Nana Boakye (Nana B), National Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has expressed confidence that the party will remain united after its presidential primary on January 31, despite tensions and strong rhetoric from some campaign platforms. Speaking on Channel One Newsroom on Thursday, January 29, Nana B noted that the NPP has a long tradition of managing disagreements that arise during primaries. He explained that while heated exchanges and excesses may occur, they are not unusual and have always been resolved successfully.
Citing the 2023 primaries as an example, he recalled how all aspirants came together peacefully afterwards, demonstrating the party’s resilience and unity. He emphasised that the priority now is to ensure a free, fair, transparent, credible, and peaceful election. “If everybody is happy about the processes, they will accept the results, the party will come together, and we will put together an effective campaign towards election 2028,” he said.
Meanwhile, the NPP has formally designated the Ghana Police Service as the sole security agency responsible for safeguarding its presidential primary, scheduled for Saturday, January 31, 2026.
