Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has expressed his commitment to collaborating with all party members as they work to rebuild and secure victory in the 2028 general elections. He emphasised that the party cannot afford to overlook the talents and experience of those who recently contested in its internal elections, highlighting the importance of unity moving forward.
During a courtesy call from the newly elected Greater Accra Regional executives and constituency chairpersons, Dr. Bawumia stated that the NPP must unite all its members for the challenges ahead. “I am open to working with everybody,” he declared.
He also mentioned that the newly elected Greater Accra Regional Chairman, Dr. Bernard Okoe Boye, is dedicated to bringing together all contenders and utilising their talents. “I believe in what Dr. Okoe Boye has said—he will do everything to bring everyone together and tap into their skills. Keeping our talents at home or out of sight does not benefit the party,” he noted. Dr. Bawumia urged members to move past the internal elections and come together for the upcoming 2028 elections.
“This election is over. You’ve had competitors. Let us come together,” he said. According to Dr Bawumia, unity will be critical to the NPP’s chances of returning to power in 2028. “So there’s a lot of work ahead of us, and we are going to do that work in unity. If we are united, I’m telling you, we will win 2028. That is the key ingredient for victory. It’s unity,” he said.
