The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) has announced extended service hours at selected offices nationwide to enhance public access and improve service delivery. In a notice dated April 16, the Authority stated that the new schedule will take effect on Monday, May 4. Participating offices will operate until 10:00 p.m. daily under a structured two-shift system.
“This initiative aligns with the Government’s broader 24-hour economy agenda, which aims to boost productivity, accessibility, and convenience for citizens,” the DVLA said. The extended hours will be available at offices located in Nahrham (near Haatso), Weija, Tema, Bolgatanga, Wa, Tamale, Takoradi, Cape Coast, Koforidua, Sunyani, Ho, Techiman, Kumasi, Winneba, and Tarkwa.
Under the new arrangement, the Authority said all payments made after 5:00 p.m. will be restricted to electronic payment options, a move intended to streamline transactions and enhance efficiency.
The DVLA urged the public to take advantage of the extended hours to access services directly, noting that this would help reduce reliance on intermediaries.
It also appealed for cooperation as it works to “fully operationalize a 24-hour service framework across these offices.”
