The National Association of Concerned Clergy has declared plans to stage a nationwide demonstration over delays in passing the proposed LGBTQ+ Bill. In a statement dated April 19, 2026, and signed by Secretary General Osahene Kwame Sefa Frimpong, the association announced that the protest will be held across all regional capitals on or before April 30.
The group explained that the action reflects growing concern among its members and supporters over what it views as prolonged inaction on a matter of “significant moral, cultural, and national importance.” It emphasised that the demonstration will be peaceful and conducted within the bounds of the law.
“Our intention is to advocate for timely legislative action, encourage public dialogue on issues affecting societal values, and demonstrate civic participation within the framework of the law,” the statement noted.
The group also urged participants to conduct themselves in a peaceful, respectful, and orderly manner throughout the exercise. The group further called on security agencies and relevant institutions to ensure adequate arrangements are put in place to guarantee safety and protect the rights of all individuals.
The group added that details on demonstration routes, timing, and guidelines will be communicated in due course.
