Akyem Wenchi pit collapse: Death toll rises to 11, scores injured

The mining pit collapse in Akyem Wenchi, Eastern Region, has taken a tragic turn, with the death toll now reaching 11, according to Metro TV’s Eastern Regional Correspondent, Kofi Adjei. Many others have sustained injuries in the disaster, and numerous individuals are feared to be trapped underground. Rescue efforts are ongoing, with personnel from NADMO, the police, fire service, and ambulance services working tirelessly to save those who are trapped.

The cause of the collapse remains unknown.
