Yaw Owusu Obimpeh, the former Ashanti Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress, has won the Ashanti Regional Council of State election. He secured a decisive victory with a total of 49 votes. The election results were announced on Monday, February 17, 2025, and it was revealed that Obimpeh led the race by a significant margin.
Nkansah Boadu Nana Ayeboafo received 35 votes, while Daniel Anarfi Yamoah only received 1 vote. None of the other candidates received any votes. Out of the expected 86 votes, a total of 85 valid votes were cast, and there were no rejected ballots. These results indicate a strong endorsement of Yaw Owusu Obimpeh’s candidacy by the electorate in the Ashanti Region. Obimpeh’s election follows the suspension of the first election last week due to the chaos that occurred during the process.
