The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is inviting the public, including academics, researchers, historians, civil society organisations, and other interested parties, to submit articles for a special edition of the Ghanaian Envoy dedicated to Ghana’s reparatory justice agenda. The Ministry stated that this special issue of its official newsletter aims to chronicle Ghana’s progress and advocacy in reparatory justice, highlighting significant milestones, initiatives, and international collaborations.
In a statement released on Monday, August 24, the Ministry noted that the publication will also include diverse viewpoints on Ghana’s pursuit of “justice, recognition, and appropriate redress” for the historical wrongs related to the transatlantic slave trade and colonialism. Submissions are sought in the form of articles, opinion pieces, essays, and other relevant contributions that address topics such as the historical background of reparatory justice, advocacy initiatives, international cooperation, achievements, challenges, and future directions.
According to the Ministry, contributions should be brief and concise, and may incorporate perspectives, experiences, research, or insights relating to Ghana’s Reparatory Justice Agenda. It encouraged contributors to submit original, unpublished and well-researched articles that are relevant to the planned publication.
Authors whose submissions are considered for publication are also required to provide a recent passport-size coloured photograph in high-resolution JPEG or PNG format. The Foreign Ministry said interested contributors should submit their articles to the Information and Public Affairs Bureau via ipab@mfa.gov.gh for consideration.
The deadline for submissions is September 2, 2026. The Ministry said it expects the contributions to enrich both national and international discussions on Ghana’s reparatory justice agenda.
It noted that the special edition will provide an opportunity to chronicle the country’s continued efforts to address the legacy of the transatlantic slave trade and colonialism and advance discussions on appropriate redress.
