The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has welcomed what it describes as a “reset” within the New Patriotic Party (NPP), viewing it as a positive development for national unity and progress. Ludwig Hlodze, the NDC’s Director of Logistics and Protocol, stated that this move reflects a renewed focus on constructive engagement, which aligns with President John Dramani Mahama’s agenda to rebuild Ghana.
Speaking at the NPP’s National Delegates Conference in Accra on Saturday, July 19, Hlodze emphasised the importance of political parties reassessing their strategies for the greater good of the nation. He expressed optimism regarding the NPP’s decision to undertake this initiative.
“The country Ghana is going through a reset process. It is very important that we as political parties reset our ideas, policies, and programmes,” he stated.
“That is why we are happy that the biggest opposition party in our country is doing exactly that—to reset and play their role with constructive criticism to support the nation builder, John Mahama, to rebuild the Ghana we all want.”
The NPP’s conference, held under the theme “Rebuilding Together with Our Values,” has drawn widespread attention as a moment of introspection and reform following the party’s 2024 electoral loss.
