Paul Abdul Rahman Issah Dowuona, Communications Director for Kwabena Agyepong’s campaign team, has urged New Patriotic Party (NPP) delegates to prioritise competence over financial inducements when selecting a candidate. In an interview on Channel One Newsroom on Tuesday, October 7, he condemned the growing monetisation of politics, describing it as a “cancer” the campaign is committed to eliminating. “One of the cancers we are determined to uproot from Ghana’s political system is the monetisation of politics.
We are simply asking NPP delegates to look beyond money and focus on who can truly deliver,” he stressed. Mr. Dowuona argued that the NPP needs rejuvenation and that Kwabena Agyepong is the right person to unite the party and secure victory in the 2028 elections. Look at who can give NPP power in 2028.
The NPP, as we say, needs rejuvenation. We need to change the way we do things. Kwabena Agyepong is the one who can do that. That is what we should look at. “It’s power we want, look at the person who can bring the party together and ensure we get the power,” he added.
