Attorney General and Minister of Justice Dr. Dominic Ayine has strongly criticized Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin for his allegations about a search carried out by National Security operatives at the residence of former Bank of Ghana Governor Dr. Ernest Addison. Afenyo-Markin claimed that during the operation, personal belongings, including jewelry and money belonging to Addison’s wife, were stolen by the security personnel.
At a press conference on Monday, March 24, 2025, Dr. Ayine addressed the allegations, calling them baseless and an “insult to the security service.” He stated, “If Afenyo-Markin is challenging me, I will make that recording available. He should refrain from maligning law enforcement officers who are conducting investigations, as well as myself for the work we are doing.” Dr. Ayine also assured the public that all investigative procedures were carried out ethically and in the best interest of the nation.
