Over 15 vehicles damaged after a fuel tanker crashes into a garage – Kumasi

A fuel tanker carrying 54,000 liters of petrol crashed into a garage at Ridge, near Plux 2 Pub, in the Kumasi Metropolis of the Ashanti Region on Thursday, April 16, 2026. The incident destroyed more than 15 vehicles, which had been displayed for sale along the roadside. Fortunately, there were no casualties reported.

The garage owner is now assessing the extent of his losses. Firefighters from the Kumasi Kejetia Fire Station and the Ashanti Regional Fire Headquarters responded quickly to control the situation and prevent a potential fire outbreak or explosion. Officials from the Ghana National Fire Service conducted cooling operations to eliminate any risk of ignition and secure the area.
