Ken Agyapong starts Central Region campaign with lifesaving hospital donations

New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential aspirant Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has commenced his campaign tour of the Central Region with a pledge to strengthen healthcare delivery through durable medical equipment and infrastructure support. Speaking during a visit to the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital, Agyapong underscored his deep ties to the region and his resolve to champion sustainable interventions. “I chose to begin here because I hail from the Central Region,” he remarked. “I have extended donations to other regions without prioritising my own. Now, tell me what you need.”

Maintenance

The former Assin Central Member of Parliament stressed that his contributions were intended to be durable, not short-term projects. He also highlighted the importance of long-term maintenance, noting that his family would continue the work. “I don’t want a bus. A bus will break down, and my name will die. I want to do something that will last forever and ever,” he stated. “If I’m not here, my son, I pray for him to live long, he will always maintain that block and the equipment involved,” Agyapong said.

Other interventions

As part of his philanthropic commitments, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong pledged to provide a minimum of five dialysis machines to the hospital by February 2026, aimed at alleviating the nationwide shortage of renal care equipment. He assured staff during his visit, “By February, I will ensure at least five dialysis machines are delivered to this hospital.

” Agyapong further disclosed that he has already ordered emergency hospital beds, promising, “Two hundred beds will be supplied in the first week of February.” Would you like me to also craft a short, headline-style version that captures the essence of his pledge for quick media or social updates?

CEO

Dr. Eric Ngyedu, CEO of the hospital, received the items and expressed appreciation for the gesture, stating that the donation would help ease the burden on the facility, particularly as demand for dialysis and quality beds increases. The visit marks the start of Agyapong’s Central Region campaign tour, where he plans to focus on infrastructure development and healthcare improvements as key elements of his bid for the NPP’s presidential nomination.
