Ghanaians will start paying a new passport fee of GHC350 beginning Thursday, November 13, 2025, down from the previous fee of GHC500, as announced by Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa. This fee reduction is part of the government’s efforts to alleviate the financial burden on citizens and improve access to essential public services.
It also fulfils a promise made by the government to review passport processing costs and make travel documents more affordable for Ghanaians. In a post on Facebook on Sunday, November 9, 2025, Ablakwa stated that this adjustment aims to encourage more citizens to obtain valid travel documents through official channels while discouraging the use of middlemen and unauthorized agents.
The new fee structure will apply to all Passport Application Centres (PACs) nationwide and covers standard application services.
