Hon Gloria Owusu, the member of parliament for the Trobu constituency of the greater Accra region has facilitated the acquisition of 250 driver’s license for some drivers of the area to support their livelihoods and enhance road safety.
Some of the drivers had new licenses, and others had theirs upgraded.
Speaking to drivers after the presentation, the MP said some of the drivers needed assistance to make a difference in their lives.
Madam Gloria Owusu who is a first-time member of parliament has done a lot of community outreach programs before and after becoming the member of parliament for the Trobu constituency.
She advised the drivers to be abreast with road signs, drive carefully and avoid overspeeding. Madam Owusu was accompanied by constituency executives and some sympathizers. After the brief but impressive ceremony, some drivers who have benefitted immensely from this gesture by the MP expressed gratitude for the gesture and pledged their commitment to remain focused and behave well on the road to avoid accidents and to drive with extra care and stay away from police confrontations.
Madam Owusu told the drivers to exercise caution on the road, obey traffic rules and regulations, avoid overspeeding and refrain from driving under the influence of alcohol.
