CLOGSAG serves notice to strike from Monday November 4

The Civil and Local Government Staff Association, Ghana (CLOGSAG) has said they have cause to declare a nationwide strike, as a result of the long delay in the completion of a salary structure for the staff of the Civil Service and the Local Government Service. It is recalled that CLOGSAG, by an earlier letter dated 21st June 2024 indicated that its members would proceed on strike on July 2024.

However, subsequent engagements with the government side got them to call off the strike by issuing a communiqué. They said that as a result of the understanding that the process of finalization of a salary structure would be completed by 31st October 2024 and implemented with effect from 1st January 2025, several meetings had been held without any firm offer from the government side.

“From the foregoing, it is evident that the 31st October 2024 deadline for finalization of a salary structure for the Civil Service and the Local Government Service would not be met. “In the light of the above CLOGSAG would have no option than to declare a nationwide strike from Monday 4th November, 2024,” a statement they issued on Tuesday, October 22 said.
