Unique

Why do we always look outside for help? Why do we always look to people for inspiration? Why do we wait for people to move before we do? Is it because we don’t feel sufficient? Is it because we don’t like who we are?
In the animal kingdom where survival is a matter of either killing or being killed, it is important for every animal to have “something” that makes them DIFFERENT. The bird is not worried it can’t crawl like the snake.

The snake is also not worried it can’t fly like the bird. Unfortunately for us humans, there is that tendency to feel you need to be like someone to be able to thrive in your space. But that is not true. You don’t need to be someone in order to survive in our environment.

Why do we also want to be someone? Whenever you wish to be someone, it means you don’t appreciate who you are. It is also possible you’re overemphasizing your inabilities. This is not the best.
Your strengths and your shortfalls make you different. And I can say for a fact that in the same way you have strengths and shortfalls, everyone does too.

Looking down on yourself because your abilities are different in type or intensity from someone is rather unfortunate.
Not feeling confident in yourself because you are not like someone is unacceptable. The funny thing is that all the people we regard as superhumans today started out as novices.

They acknowledged and appreciated those qualities that made them different. Today, what made them different makes them unique.
As established, despising what makes you different is unfortunate because you are holding onto the lie that the people we want to be don’t have shortfalls as you do. Everybody has shortfalls.

We only see the nice part of their lives. If the bird is obsessed with becoming a snake, it is possible it is considering only the fact that the snake is powerful by virtue of its poison.
Funnily enough, the snake has a shortfall: it can’t fly. When under sudden attack, the bird can fly away but the snake can’t.

The snake has its unique challenges as well. It has to always be on the lookout for wild boars, mongooses, raccoons, foxes, coyotes and human beings in order to live, but the bird doesn’t have to.

It has its own predators. All these different life situations make these animals unique in their own way, and so it is for us humans too.

In recent times, social media allows people to live fake lives. People post pictures of their weddings and a lot of people Is it because we don’t feel sufficient? Is it because we don’t like who we are?

In recent times, social media allows for people to live fake lives. People post pictures of their weddings and a lot of people want to have a similar wedding. Some also post pictures of themselves sitting in luxury cars and all some people want to do is to have a life like that.

You are different and that is okay. No matter your inabilities, you’re sufficient. If you can’t crawl don’t worry! If you can’t fly don’t worry! You are unique as you.

Your abilities and your inabilities make you unique. The bird is called a bird because it can fly and can’t crawl. Any animal which can fly and crawl at the same time is not a bird but something else.

Be glad you’re not someone else. It is more difficult to be yourself than to try to be someone. Emma Stone, a Hollywood actress, supports this by putting it this way, “What sets you apart can sometimes feel like a burden and it’s not. And a lot of the time, it’s what makes you great.”

You might think your life is not great because of your challenges and the things you have to deal with on a daily basis. It is okay to feel that way, but in the midst of your crisis, never wish you were someone because you don’t know what they’ve gone through, what they are going through and what awaits them. Be careful what you wish for because wishes come through with consequences.

Say to yourself today that it is okay to be different. Say to yourself that it’s okay if you can’t do some things. Tell yourself you don’t need to be someone in order to be relevant in your corner.

You have what it takes to survive where you are. You have what it takes to be relevant where you are. Know that despite your feelings of inadequacy, you possess something that makes you enough.

Believe in yourself. Believe in your potential. You’re not disadvantaged.
Know that you’re privileged to be YOU. Among the seven billion-plus people in the world, nobody can be you. You are Different and that makes you Unique.
