Ban on noise-making commences May 6

The Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) has announced that the annual ban on drumming and noise-making will begin on Monday, May 6 and end on Thursday, June 6, 2024. The ban is intended to curb all kinds of noise-making activities within the Ga State. The Head of Public Affairs, Gilbert Nii Ankrah, signed the statement, urging people to refrain from celebratory events and funerals during the ban period.

The statement further indicated that apart from the identifiable task force that consists of AMA personnel, the Ghana Police Service and Representatives from the Traditional Councils with tags, no other person or group of persons should be seen or found enforcing the abatement of noise in the metropolis.
