Atuguba’s coup claims an indication that NDC has nothing to offer – Gabby

A leading member of the governing New Patriotic Party Gabby Asare Otchere Darko says claims by Raymond Atuguba that Ghana is ripe for a coup is an indication that his party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has nothing to offer the people of Ghana.

Dean of University of Ghana Law School Professor Raymond Atuguba is on record to have said that with the current economic situation in Ghana, the country is ripe for a coup.

“My current assessment that Ghana may be ripe for a coup, is based on my friend’s doctoral search called Why some coups succeed and why others failed.” Prof. Raymond Atuguba said.

The big part of why certain coups succeed is the economy. What is the state of Ghana’s economy today?” he questioned.

Reacting to the position of Raymond Atuguba, Gabby Asare Otchere Darko who is a leading member of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) said it’s clearly an indication that the NDC has nothing to offer the people of Ghana.

He believes that if a party in opposition which is the alternative believes that a coup is what can solve Ghana’s problems, then the party has a long way to go.

He said in a tweet that If you’re a senior member of an opposition party that can be described as an ‘alternative government’ & yet you say that your country is ripe for a coup, what you’re really saying is that your party is no better & cannot be expected to fix whatever you see wrong even if elected!”.
