The burden of love – Rhoda Aboaggyewaa

The first time I set my eyes on you gosh! I couldn’t bling again, it was as if I had been struck by lightning. I didn’t always concentrate in class, I just kept staring at you. The day you proposed to me I couldn’t sleep the whole night, I was enthusiastic.

I didn’t care about anything, I didn’t respect anybody because I thought I was on top of the world. You sent me to the cinema, bought me a phone, gave me money so I thought I had found true and everlasting Love. Until that late Friday night at Philips hotel, we enjoyed ourselves and forget to protect ourselves. Three months later, I found out that I was pregnant and I informed you of my pregnancy and you denied being the father.

I was shocked, I was sacked from my parent’s house the day my parents heard the truth. I was left to cater for myself on the street, I struggled on the streets, though it wasn’t easy being a kayaye. I gave birth safe and sound but it’s of a lack of basic needs for my baby he died.

I regret deeply for what I did and if I was given a second chance I would never repeat what I did. Lesson to all the teens in the world, stay focused on your education and stay far away from premarital sex
