MTN Ghana has announced significant reductions in its fibre broadband tariffs, effective Wednesday, June 17, 2026, alongside the rollout of new high‑speed packages. The price of the 100 Mbps unlimited monthly plan has been slashed from GH¢987 to GH¢299, while two new options have been introduced: a 300 Mbps unlimited package at GH¢444 and a 500 Mbps unlimited package at GH¢999.
Reacting to the announcement, Minister of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Samuel Nartey George, wrote on social media: “You demanded. We engaged. MTN Ghana has responded.” He explained that the changes followed discussions between the Ministry and MTN on affordability and reliability of fibre broadband services.
The Minister thanked MTN’s management for responding to calls for a review and pledged continued engagement with telecom operators on pricing and service delivery. The move comes after widespread public complaints about the high cost of digital services, marking a major shift in Ghana’s broadband market.
