Former Auditor-General Mr. Daniel Yaw Domelevo has been appointed as the new Board Chairman of the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO). Mr. Domelevo, who is widely respected for his strong stance on accountability and anti-corruption during his tenure as Auditor-General, is expected to leverage his expertise and integrity to strengthen EOCO’s mandate of investigating and prosecuting economic and organized crimes.
His appointment has been welcomed by governance and anti-corruption advocates, who believe that his leadership will enhance public confidence in the institution and bolster Ghana’s fight against corruption and financial crimes. In a statement, he expressed concerns about the significant amount of money lost to corruption in the country.
