Award-winning investigative journalist Manasseh Azure Awuni says the ills and mismanagement during Akufo-Addo’s tenure in office have made former President Mahama “look like an angel”. According to the ace journalist, while so many scandals happened during the erstwhile Mahama administration, what the country is experiencing now may have absolved Mr. Mahama.
Drawing a contrast between former President Mahama and President Akufo-Addo, Manasseh Azure was convinced that the better between the two could not be clearer.
“Mahama and Akufo-Addo are like day and night. I thought Mahama was bad based on the indicators, and then Akufo-Addo comes and Mahama is beginning to look like an angel,” Mr. Awuni told Bola Ray on Starr Chat.
“The John Mahama era, I did investigations many times some were directly against him like the Ford, SADA, GYEEDA, people close to him were involved and all of that but the kind of danger and fear for my life wasn’t there as in the Akufo-Addo era,” the renowned journalist said.
Reflecting on his career as an investigative journalist, Manasseh Azure said he had no regrets about the stories he had done emphasizing that if “given the opportunity, I’ll do it again”.
