Universal Friendship Organisation Commends President John Dramani Mahama for Granting Amnesty to 998 Inmates
We, the Universal Friendship Organisation, would like to extend our heartfelt commendations to President John Dramani Mahama for his wise and compassionate decision to grant amnesty to 998 prisoners. This gesture demonstrates the government’s commitment to rehabilitation, mercy, and the well-being of its citizens. The amnesty is expected to have a positive impact on the prison system, including:
- Decongesting prisons and improving living conditions for remaining inmates
- Reducing government expenditure on prisoners, allowing for more effective allocation of resources
- Providing an opportunity for rehabilitation and reintegration of released prisoners into society
We believe that the beneficiaries of this amnesty have been transformed through their experiences and are now poised to contribute positively to their communities. This act of mercy will not only bring relief to the individuals and their families but also foster a sense of hope and renewal.
We applaud President Mahama’s leadership and vision in promoting a more humane and just society. This initiative reflects the government’s dedication to creating a better future for all citizens.
Furthermore, we urge family and friends to welcome these individuals with open arms, provide them with the necessary support, and work towards eliminating stigmatization against them. By doing so, we can create a more inclusive and compassionate society that values redemption and second chances.
We urge the government to continue exploring innovative solutions to address the challenges facing the prison system and to prioritize rehabilitation and reintegration programs for released prisoners.

Thank you.
