President John Dramani Mahama has officially sworn in the new Right to Information (RTI) Commission, underscoring the government’s commitment to transparency and accountability in public service. Dr. James Asante has been appointed as the Chairman of the Commission, with Christina Edmund serving as the Vice Chairperson.

The Commission also includes members Kobby Woyome, Aba Edusah, Angela Emefa Kpegah, and Shirley Lartey, who serves as the Executive Secretary, along with Chris Dugan. The newly inaugurated Commission is responsible for overseeing the implementation of the Right to Information Act, ensuring that citizens can access public information and promoting transparency across all public institutions.

Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony, President Mahama emphasised the importance of the Commission in fostering accountability and strengthening citizens’ trust in governance.
