Police foil robbery attempt at Labone GCB Bank, two suspects killed

The Ghana Police Service successfully thwarted an attempted robbery at a GCB Bank branch in Labone, Accra. During the incident, which occurred on Thursday, August 13, 2026, two suspects were shot dead and another was arrested. According to a brief statement from the police, their officers intervened to prevent the robbery attempt at the bank.

“Two suspects have been gunned down and one has been arrested,” the statement read. The police indicated that more details regarding the identities of the suspects and the circumstances surrounding the attempted robbery will be provided in due course.
