A tragic bee attack has claimed the life of a local chief in the Kpandai District following a National Democratic Congress (NDC) campaign activity on Sunday, December 14. According to reports, the chief was riding a motorbike when he was attacked by a swarm of bees. He dismounted and attempted to escape but was fatally assaulted in the ensuing commotion.
The incident occurred in the lead-up to the parliamentary rerun in the Kpandai Constituency, scheduled for December 30, after the court annulled the initial election results and directed that a fresh poll be conducted. The rerun has intensified political activities in the district, with both the NDC and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) stepping up campaigns amid heightened security concerns.
Some residents have attributed the incident to a curse, though authorities say no official determination has been made. Police are yet to issue a formal statement, and investigations are ongoing to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the attack.
