The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has successfully completed its nationwide exhibition of the voter register in preparation for the presidential primary slated for Saturday, January 31, 2026. The exercise, which began on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, concluded on Monday, January 5, 2026, and was carried out across all 276 constituencies.
This process formed a key component of the party’s preparations, designed to uphold transparency and credibility in its internal electoral system. According to the Presidential Elections Committee (PEC), the exhibition provided delegates and stakeholders the opportunity to confirm their personal details and eligibility on the register. The initiative was intended to enhance the accuracy of the final voter roll that will be used during the primary.
In a statement signed by the Secretary to the PEC, William Yamoah, the Committee said the exhibition enabled delegates to confirm their records at both constituency and regional levels. Party members were encouraged to report any discrepancies identified during the process.
The discrepancies identified included missing names, typographical errors, incorrect photographs, and other irregularities that could undermine the integrity of the register. The Presidential Elections Committee (PEC) emphasised that addressing these issues ahead of the primary is critical to ensuring a smooth and credible process.
The upcoming NPP presidential primary will see five contenders: former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, Dr. Bryan Acheampong, former Education Minister Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, and former General Secretary Kwabena Agyei Agyepong. With the exhibition exercise now concluded, the party is expected to finalise the delegates’ register for use in the January 31 vote.
