President John Mahama has officially sworn in six ministerial nominees following their parliamentary approval on Tuesday, January 21. They previously appeared before the Appointments Committee. The swearing-in ceremony, which took place at the Jubilee House, marked the official start of their roles in significant government positions. The nominees represent the first batch of appointments approved and include Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson as Minister of Finance, Dr. Dominic Ayine as Attorney General, and John Jinapor as Minister of Energy and Green Transition.
The others are Haruna Iddrisu as Minister for Education, Eric Opoku as Minister for Food and Agriculture, and Governs Kwame Agbodza as Minister for Roads and Highways. The appointees underwent rigorous vetting and debate in Parliament, earning approval for their respective roles. The President expressed confidence in their abilities to deliver on their mandates, stressing the critical nature of their portfolios in driving national development.
