Mahama embarks on a peace mission to Bawku and Nalerigu

On Tuesday, January 14, 2025, President John Dramani Mahama embarked on an important peace-building mission to Bawku and Nalerigu. This visit reflects his steadfast dedication to resolving the long-standing conflict in Bawku that has affected the region for many years.

During his time in the area, President Mahama is engaging with the conflict factions and key stakeholders to promote dialogue and foster lasting peace. His approach underscores his dedication to addressing one of Ghana’s most pressing regional conflicts through constructive conversations and inclusive solutions.

“The President is determined to resolve the decades-old conflict in Bawku and will use the visit to engage the conflict factions and key stakeholders to promote dialogue to achieve lasting peace,” stated Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Acting Presidential Spokesperson.

The peace mission reflects the President’s broader vision for a united Ghana, where disputes are addressed through diplomacy and mutual understanding. After completing his engagements in the two communities, President Mahama will return to Accra later today. This visit highlights the administration’s focus on peace, reconciliation, and development as central pillars of governance in 2025.
