The Minister for Government Communications and Member of Parliament for Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, has donated 10,000 pieces of furniture to senior high schools within his constituency to address persistent shortages. The donation, made on Monday, February 2, comprised 5,000 tables and 5,000 chairs, and was publicly shared by the Minister on Facebook the previous day, Sunday, February 1.
All five public senior high schools in the constituency benefited from the intervention. The beneficiary schools include Aggrey Memorial A.M.E. Zion School, Moree Senior High School, Asuantsi Technical Institute, Abakrampa Senior High School, and Aburaman Senior High School.
“This intervention has all but wiped out the acute deficit in desks and chairs in the schools,” Kwakye Ofosu said. He noted that the lack of furniture had previously forced students to share desks or attend lessons without adequate seating. Kwakye Ofosu added that the donation is expected to enhance the learning environment and improve the effectiveness of teaching and learning across the beneficiary schools.
