The Metropolitan Chief Executive of Kumasi, Richard Ofori-Agyeman Boadi, has ordered the immediate eviction of all encroachers from public school lands throughout the metropolis. During a recent tour of basic schools, he observed alarming levels of unauthorised activities on these lands, including the establishment of shelters, trading, mechanics, drug peddling, and religious gatherings. These activities pose serious threats to safety, sanitation, and academic focus.

The Kumasi Mayor has instructed the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), the Physical Planning Department, and the Works Department to quickly reclaim the affected lands and restore a conducive learning environment for both students and teachers.

His visits included schools in the Subin, Bantama, Manhyia South, and Manhyia North communities, such as the Asem, Amankwatia, and State Boys/Girls clusters. “We will not allow anyone to occupy school land in Kumasi; it is negatively impacting education,” stated the MCE.
