Inspector General of Police, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, has been dismissed from his position. He will be replaced by COP Christian Tetteh Yohunu. COP Yohunu, who brings with him an impressive four decades of experience in law enforcement, is expected to usher in a new era for the Ghana Police Service. His appointment aims to focus on modernization and transformation within the force.
“President John Dramani Mahama has in accordance with Articles 91 and 202 of the 1992 constitution and in consultation with the Council of State, appointed Commissioner of Police (COP) Christian Tetteh Yohunu as the Inspector-General of Police. He replaces COP Dr. George Akuffo Darnpare,” a statement issued by the Spokesperson to the President, Felix Kwakye Ofosu read.
