The Ministry of Health has announced that outstanding salary arrears owed to nurses and midwives for postings in 2024 and 2025 will be settled through a structured four-month instalment plan. Following consultations with the Ministry of Finance, approval has been granted for payments to be disbursed between April and July.
According to a statement issued on Thursday, February 26, the schedule provides for two months of arrears in April, followed by three months each in May, June, and July. The Ministry commended nurses and midwives for their patience and continued dedication despite the delays, while also acknowledging the Ministry of Finance for prioritising the settlement of these obligations.
This arrangement reflects the government’s commitment to responsibly clearing all outstanding payments to health workers and underscores its dedication to their welfare and motivation across the sector.
