The Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) has arrested ten students from Koforidua Technical University for allegedly producing, distributing, and selling cannabis-infused drinks and ice cream during the university’s Students’ Representative Council Hall Week celebrations. According to NACOC, the arrests were made after an intelligence-led operation on campus, prompted by reports of cannabis-infused products being sold to students and other attendees at the event.
The operation resulted in the apprehension of the alleged ringleader, 23-year-old Priscilla Tetteh, along with nine other students who are believed to have played various roles in the production, distribution, and sale of these illicit products. NACOC reported that the suspects were caught while allegedly selling the cannabis-infused drinks and ice cream during the celebrations. The commission stated that investigations are ongoing as it continues its efforts to combat the circulation of illegal narcotic substances, particularly within educational institutions.
