The Ministry of Education has announced that access to the Computerized School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) platform will now be free for all candidates seeking to check their Senior High School (SHS) and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) placements for the 2024/2025 academic year.
This new initiative, announced ahead of the release of the placement results, eliminates the need for students to purchase pin codes, a step that has previously added an extra cost and layer of complexity to the process. The Ministry’s decision is expected to benefit hundreds of thousands of prospective first-year students and their families, making checking placements simpler and more accessible.
How to Check Placement Results
In a press release, the Ministry outlined a straightforward process for students to access their results: Visit the official CSSPS website at https://www.cssps.gov.gh or https://www.cssps.org. Enter the ten-digit index number followed by the year of completion (e.g., if completed in 2024, use the format 123456789024).
Click the “Submit” button and wait for the placement result to be displayed. The Ministry encourages all eligible students to take advantage of this initiative and ensure timely access to their placement information without any financial obstacles.
A Step Toward Educational Equity
Spokesperson Kwasi Kwarteng emphasized in the press release that the government’s decision reflects its commitment to making education more accessible and equitable for all Ghanaians. By removing the pin code requirement, the Ministry hopes to alleviate some of the financial strain on families, particularly those from lower-income households, and streamline the placement process.
