The President of Universal Friendship Organisation, Mr. Samuel Adobah, has been recognised for his outstanding contributions to promoting peace and unity. At the prestigious Global Peace Ambassadors Awards, Adobah was awarded the Youth Peace Advocacy of the Year award, a testament to his dedication and commitment to championing peace and unity over the years.
Under Samuel Adobah’s leadership, Universal Friendship Organisation has successfully championed several peace projects, solidifying its position as a dedicated peace advocacy group. Since 2019, the organisation has embarked on numerous peace projects, promoting unity, understanding, and peaceful coexistence in communities.
This esteemed award acknowledges Adobah’s tireless efforts to foster global peace and understanding through his work with Universal Friendship Organisation. Speaking after receiving the award, Mr. Adobah emphasised that peace plays a critical role in human life and must be practised in every corner of the globe. He reiterated the importance of collective efforts in promoting peace and unity, inspiring individuals and communities to work together towards a more harmonious world.
According to him, “Peace is a shared responsibility, and one cannot promote peace for many to enjoy.” Therefore, he urged all and sundry to show commitment in promoting peace and unity everywhere.
He added that the Bawku conflict has been his concern over the years, noting that the disunity among traditional leaders in the area has caused the nation to lose significant financial resources. Despite successive governments investing heavily in resolving these chieftaincy disputes, little progress has been made, underscoring the need for a more sustainable and inclusive approach to peacebuilding.
Furthermore, he expressed concern that innocent souls have been lost and properties damaged, which has discouraged investors from bringing development to the area. This, he emphasised, underscores the urgent need for peace and stability to ensure the well-being and prosperity of the people.
