Former Minister of Youth & Sports Mustapha Ahmed passes away

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Mustapha Ahmed, former Minister of Youth and Sports. Dr. Ahmed passed away on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, after a prolonged battle with illness. He was appointed by former President John Mahama, but his tenure as Sports Minister was brief, lasting only eight months. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time.

He was replaced by Edwin Nii Lante Vanderpuye in a reshuffle. He was the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament for Ayawaso North from 2001 to 2016. Dr. Ahmed, a former military officer and a dentist previously worked at the 37 Military Hospital.
