CETAG declares strike effective Tuesday August 1 over nonpayment of arrears

The Colleges of Education Teachers Association of Ghana (CETAG), has withdrawn teaching and other related service effective Tuesday, August 1st 2023. The Association explained that their action follows failure of the employer to comply with the Arbitral Award Orders issued by the National Labour Commission (NLC) on 2nd May 2023.

Hence at the National Delegates Conference of CETAG meeting held from Sunday, 30th to Monday 31st July, 2023, they resolved that effective Tuesday, August 1st 2023 all tutors of all 46 public colleges of education in Ghana are to withdraw teaching and related services. According to them, they will only resume work when their employer has complied with all the orders of the National Labour Commission.
