Beverly Afaglo, the late Ghanaian actress and entrepreneur, passed away after a two-year battle with cancer, her manager, Abu Iddris, reported. In an interview with Ghana Weekend on Sunday, May 24, Iddris shared that she died on Saturday night at the International Maritime Hospital in Tema. “She fought hard for two years in this relentless battle against cancer. Unfortunately, this is where her journey has ended,” he stated. He explained that the cancer initially began as breast cancer, but later spread due to its genetic nature.
Beverly’s death was announced by her husband, musician Eugene Baah, popularly known as Choirmaster or Praye Ho Ne Ho of the Praye music group, in a social media post on Sunday, May 24, 2026. She was 42 years old. Iddris disclosed that despite her deteriorating condition, Beverly remained committed to her career and family, even while undergoing treatment.
“We filmed her during her treatment, capturing moments from the premieres and promotions while she was undergoing therapy. She continued to live her life and give her best even as the cancer ultimately took its toll on her,” he explained. He also mentioned that Beverly had travelled to the United States for treatment and was advised to stay there due to the advanced medical care available.
However, she chose to return to Ghana to spend time with her children. “She wanted to be with her kids, fully aware of her situation. That’s the kind of person she was—she prioritised spending her last days with them, despite the cost,” he added. The family has not yet announced funeral arrangements as they continue to mourn her passing.
