Anti-corruption agencies will operate smoothly under my government – Mahama

The presidential candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Mahama has pledged to ensure the smooth and effective operation of institutions tasked with fighting corruption. Speaking to a gathering of clergy at the Great Hall of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Kumasi, Ashanti Region, Mahama emphasized his commitment to tackling corruption, a key issue for many Ghanaians.

“Under my government, the institutions fighting corruption will operate smoothly,” Mahama stated, highlighting his vision for a transparent and accountable government. Mahama’s pledge comes amidst widespread concern about the perceived increase in corruption within the country, with many citizens demanding stronger measures to combat this societal ill.

He further stressed the importance of strengthening these institutions and empowering them to effectively carry out their mandate. Mahama’s comments, delivered during a fellowship with religious leaders, underscore the importance of upholding ethical and moral principles in governance.

The NDC’s commitment to tackling corruption has been a key theme in their campaign, with Mahama emphasizing his track record of fighting corruption during his previous term as president. The upcoming elections are likely to see a renewed focus on the issue of corruption, with both parties vying for the support of voters by outlining their respective plans to combat this challenge.
